3Com's implementation of Multilink PPP on the 3ComImpact External Digital Modem complies with the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) RFC 1717 specification, The PPP Multilink Protocol. Therefore, equipment that has been designed to comply with this specification should interoperate with the 3ComImpact External Digital Modem.

The implementation of Multilink PPP on the 3ComImpact External Digital Modem has been tested with the Multilink PPP implementation on equipment from the following vendors and to date has shown complete compliance with RFC 1717.
